Collection: Henrietta Milan
Henrietta Milan, a renowned American Impressionist artist with Czechoslovakian and Polish roots, was born in Chicago and nurtured her artistic passion at Gage Park High School and DePaul University. After relocating to Texas, she continued her studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Now in her 80s, she lives in Texas with her husband, Jerry, and creates art from her home studio.
Her work is heavily influenced by her extensive travels in Europe, particularly her experiences with French Impressionism at iconic locations like the Louvre and Monet's gardens in Giverny. Self-taught, she developed a unique style using a palette knife, resulting in textured canvases that celebrate light and color, depicting themes such as children, flowers, and gardens.
Henrietta opened her home studio to the public in 1979, gaining national recognition, with her artwork displayed in galleries across the U.S. and internationally. She creates commissioned works and has produced fine art reproductions and a limited edition print. Committed to philanthropy, she donates art to support various causes and has received accolades from local officials. Passionate about her craft, Henrietta continues to paint, with her vibrant impressionist works available for purchase, allowing collectors to own a piece of her legacy.
